ICC ladies Twenty20 gets underway in Dar

Tanzania hosts the International Cricket Council’s Twenty20 world cup qualifier tournament that gets underway in Dar es salaam on Sunday.

Tanzania Cricket Association’s official Kazim Nasser said six othr national teams besides Tanzania are competing in the tourney. He mentioned the countries as Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Namibia and zimbabwe.

The organisers have earmarked two venues within Dar es Salaam to host the event and these are Annadil Burhani and the University of Dar es Salaam.

According to the fixture, South Africa will play zimbabwe in the opener at the Annadil Burhani venue from 09:30 in the morning as Kenya take on Namibia at the University of Dar es Salaam venue.
Old foes Uganda and Tanzania will not be in action during the morning session as only two matches are lined up.
The hosts will be in action against Uganda at the Anadil Burhani venue later in the afternoon session of the opening day. South Afrcia will take on Namibia at the University venue later in the afternoon while Kenya and Zimbabwe will be resting.
A total of four matches will be played everry dat in the round robin formatted tourney.

Day two of theevent would see Tanzania taking on Zimbabwe at the Anandil Burhani venue as Kenya and Uganda lock horns at the University venue in the morning session



The day two will be conclude by two other matches in the afternoon session as South Africa meet Uganda and Namibia play against hosts Tanzania at the University of Dar es Salaam.


On Tuesday South Africa takes on Kenya at the Annadil Burhani venue in the morning session that will also see Zimbabwe play Uganda at the University.

Tanzania meet South Africa at the University venue while Kenya and will be clashing against Zimbabwe at the Annadil.


Tanzania concludes the round robin matches as they take on Kenya at the Annadil Burhani venue in the morning session of December 18 as Zimbabwe have a date against Namibia at the University venue.

The evening session will be concluded by two other matches as Uganda meet Namibia at the Annadil venue while South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya will not be in action.
Tanzania players lined up for the tourney includes regular skipper Monica Pascal, Zena Hassan, Saida Hamisi, Fatuma Kibusa, Hawa Salum, Mwanaiddi Ibrahim, Easter Wales, Jessica Mawole, Sophia Hemedi, Nasra Mohamed, Mwanaiddi Swed, Hadija Nasibu, Saumu Salum and Hyroon Ramadhani.

Men’s national team’s skipper Hamisi Abdallah is managing the team while Zulfikar Ebrahim takes the role as a coach. The team has two trainers Riziki Kiseto and Kassimu Nassoro.
