Tottenham in negotiations for £30m-rated Willian

TRANSFER TARGET: Willian, right, attempts to score for Anzhi
 Makhachkala (PA)
BRAZILIAN ATTACKER Willian looks destined to join
Champions League chasing club Tottenham as the north
London team is in advanced talks to sign the player.
The 25-year-old is currently under contract at Anzhi
Makhachkala, but the Russian club is intent on selling
its prized assets due to reported financial problems.
Willian is also known to be a Liverpool transfer
target – however, Spurs’ initial bid, understood to
be £30m, is better than what the Merseyside side is
 willing to offer.
There are reports that Willian is scheduled to undergo
 a medical at Spurs.
The player, who has two Brazil caps, is said to want
a move to the Premier League and will reportedly
make a final decision over which club he joins on Tuesday.
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is under pressure to
keep hold of Gareth Bale while Real Madrid retain
interest in signing the Welsh star for what would be
 a world-record deal over £80m.
Spurs have already signed another Brazil midfielder this
summer, with Paulinho joining from Corinthians for a fee
 estimated just under £17m.
The club also smashed their own record signing outlay
by purchasing Roberto Soldado from Valencia for £26m.
